The pyrotechnic shows will run from 9:00 pm to 9:15 pm, organized under the direction of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City High Command.
The displays are part of a series of events celebrating major national holidays and significant historical and political milestones.
This year’s celebrations will mark the 51st anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), and the 140th anniversary of International Workers’ Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026).
For the upcoming celebrations, the city will host a wide range of commemorative and cultural activities.
On the morning of April 29, officials will pay tribute at several memorial sites, including the martyrs’ cemeteries, Ben Duoc - Cu Chi Memorial Temple, and other historical sites.
Later that same day, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, ceremonies to offer incense and flowers in honor of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang will be held at Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch, Ton Duc Thang Museum, and at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh along Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street.
Festivities will continue into the evening of April 29 with commemorative art performances staged on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street and Tam Thang Square on Thuy Van Street.
Additional cultural, artistic, and sports activities are also expected to take place across the city center and surrounding areas on April 30 and May 1, contributing to a vibrant holiday atmosphere.
As part of the commemorative program, Ho Chi Minh City will host an exhibition along Dong Khoi Street and at Chi Lang Park on April 24.
In addition, the city will celebrate the Hung Kings Commemoration Day at the Hung Kings Temple in the National Cultural and Historical Park on April 26.
The occasion will feature traditional activities such as wrapping and cooking banh chung (square sticky rice cake), along with artistic performances, martial arts demonstrations, folk games, book fairs, and other cultural programs.
The Hung Kings Commemoration Day takes place on the 10th day of the third lunar month, which is April 26 this year.
