House fire kills four in Hanoi

Four people died and another individual was injured in a house fire incident in Ha Dong District, Hanoi, the Office of the municipal People’s Committee said on Saturday morning.

The fire broke out at a four-story house, owned by 43-year-old Nguyen Quang M., on Thanh Cong Street in Ha Dong at 7:45 am on the same day.

The municipal public security department dispatched firefighters and several fire trucks to the house, but they failed to rescue four victims, including M.’s 67-year-old mother Nguyen Thi X., and his three children 10-year-old Nguyen Minh P., eight-year-old Nguyen Quang Minh D., and four-year-old Nguyen Quang Minh H. while another person was wounded.

M.’s family moved to the house, which covers an area of about 40 square meters, more than a year ago.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the house fire.
