The event, themed ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing,’ was jointly organized by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Da Nang City, and the Embassy of India in Vietnam.
The program marked the 12th International Day of Yoga (June 21), while also celebrating the 54th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India and the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The event opened with a traditional Indian lamp-lighting ceremony.
The ceremonial flame, symbolizing light, hope, health and peace, reflected the cultural heritage of India, widely regarded as the birthplace of yoga.

Nguyen Nho Khiem, president of the Da Nang Union of Literature and Arts Associations and chairman of the Da Nang Vietnam - India Friendship Association, said yoga is not only a form of physical exercise but also an art of living that helps people achieve balance in body, mind and spirit.
Every deep breath and moment of stillness offered by yoga contributes to a healthier and more positive lifestyle, he said.
