Young people quickly joined in the Halloween festivities. Koai, 22, came dressed as a spooky killer rabbit, one of the night's standout looks.
Koai said the costume had taken more than a month to prepare, with every piece handmade. “I made the entire outfit myself. I'm really happy and excited to be here celebrating with everyone,” Koai said.
Another young reveler, dressed as a vivid green character, said it had taken nearly a month to complete the costume. They were pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic response from locals and tourists.
The more elaborate the costumes, the more attention they drew, with many participants surrounded by curious onlookers eager to take photos with them.

While some opted for simpler, handmade costumes that were easier on the wallet, others spared no time or expense in creating elaborate, high-end looks.
One of the most eye-catching outfits was worn by Vu, 26, whose costume was inspired by an 'ocean bride.' A longtime Halloween enthusiast, Vu said he had spent months planning and putting together this year's look.
“I spent three to four months working on this costume, from coming up with the idea and sourcing materials to putting everything together. As for the cost, it was probably around VND10-15 million (US$390-590). It's the most expensive Halloween costume I've made so far,” he said with a laugh.
