At the closing ceremony held on Sunday evening, the Dong Thap People’s Committee said the festival, which ran from December 27, generated over VND468 billion (US$17.8 million) in revenue from tourism experiences, sightseeing services, food and beverage sales, and the sale of flowers and ornamental plants.
During the festival, OCOP (One Commune One Product) booths from across the Mekong Delta region recorded combined sales of more than VND6.5 billion ($247,430).
One of the highlights was a hot-air balloon showcase and the Sa Dec Lantern Night event on December 31, which drew more than 250,000 people to Sa Dec Square.
Hot-air balloon performances held from January 1 to 4 continued to attract large crowds, bringing in more than 578,000 visitors over four days and significantly boosting revenue.
