In Vietnam, driver fined for parking car on railway track

Vietnamese traffic police have fined a driver for parking his car on a railway track in the northern province of Lang Son, authorities said on Friday.

The driver, identified as A.N.V., born in 1965, parked his vehicle on the track near Dong Mo Station in Chi Lang Commune at around 4:00 pm on Thursday, police said. 

He later reported to authorities and admitted the violation.

Police said the act breached railway safety regulations and carries a fine of VND800,000 (US$30.5) to VND1 million ($38).

Images of the car parked on the track circulated widely on social media, drawing public criticism.
