These programs — in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and radiology and nuclear medicine — are fully taught in English and have passed national quality assessments.
They mark a major step in the university’s internationalization strategy.
A university representative said that this development positions Vietnam as a competitive destination for advanced medical education, especially as some Indian institutions struggle to meet postgraduate demand.
“The decision by Indian doctors to study in Vietnam reflects growing recognition of our training quality in healthcare,” the representative said.
Clinical practice will take place across a network of 29 hospitals in Hanoi and at the central level.
This initiative also makes the university the first institution in northern Vietnam to host Indian postgraduate medical students.
Currently, more than 400 Indian students are studying undergraduate medicine in Can Tho City and Ho Chi Minh City, both located in southern Vietnam.
The Hanoi-based university hopes its international programs will foster a global academic environment in Vietnam.
