Police in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, have arrested two internationally wanted suspects, a South Korean and a Kazakh, and handed them over to authorities in their respective countries.

The investigation police agency under the provincial Department of Public Security on Friday said it had coordinated with the provincial Immigration Department to hand over Kwon Jongkong, a 46-year-old South Korean national, to South Korean authorities.

Kwon was an internationally wanted suspect accused of fraud.

He was arrested after police in Khanh Hoa's Bac Nha Trang Ward conducted residency checks on foreign nationals and identified him as an internationally wanted suspect.

Around the same time, the agency also coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security's Department of Legal Affairs and Administrative–Judicial Reforms to escort and hand over Kamza Kaisar Bakytzhanuly, a 31-year-old Kazakh national, to Kazakh authorities.

Kamza, an internationally wanted suspect accused of organizing gambling activities, was detained in the same ward during police residency checks on foreign nationals.

The arrests and handovers of the two suspects contributed to effective international cooperation in combating crime, according to Khanh Hoa Online.
