At the invitation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Lao People's Army sent a delegation of officers and soldiers to join the parade.
This demonstrates the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the people and armed forces of Vietnam and Laos, affirming the strong and enduring relationship that has spanned multiple generations.
Upon the Lao delegation’s arrival at Phu Bai International Airport, leaders from the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hue City, the Hue Military Command, Division 968 under the Military Zone 4, along with many officers, soldiers, and students from Hue University, were present to welcome the delegation and offer encouragement.
Necessary procedures were completed quickly, allowing the delegation to continue their journey to Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking to the Lao military delegation, leaders from the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hue City and the Hue Military Command expressed their joy and honor at hosting the delegation for this important event in Vietnam.
They emphasized that this is a reflection of the strong, traditional ties between the people and armed forces of Vietnam and Laos.
They also wished the Lao delegation health while participating in the parade in Ho Chi Minh City, expressing confidence that they would fulfill their mission, contributing to the success of Vietnam's Reunification Day celebrations.
During a rehearsal for the parade on Le Duan Boulevard in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday evening, General Phan Van Giang, Vietnamese Minister of National Defense, confirmed that China, Laos, and Cambodia would send forces to Vietnam to participate in the parade.
He underscored that security and safety should be the top priority, urging the military to conduct thorough mine and bomb detection and clearance and maintain strict vigilance.
He also stressed the importance of ensuring the health and well-being of all officers and soldiers involved.
Military medical forces, particularly skilled doctors, were asked to remain on standby, ready to respond to any situations.
The Ministry of National Defense would cooperate closely with the Ministry of Public Security to ensure the highest level of security and public order, Giang added.
