Lithuanian cueist Pijus Labutis defeated German opponent Moritz Neuhausen 13-7 in the final match late on Sunday to win the Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2025.

On the final day of the tournament, held at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena in Hanoi, Labutis and Neuhausen put on a thrilling match for the audience.

Labutis opened the scoring, but Neuhausen quickly equalized at 1-1 in the second rack and then took the lead 3-1 by winning two consecutive games.

Labutis leveled the match at 3-3 in the fifth and sixth racks.

Over the next hour, the two players went back and forth, reaching 4-4 before Labutis pulled away with six consecutive wins to lead 10-5.

Despite falling behind, Neuhausen remained composed.

He took advantage of his break-and-clear opportunities to narrow the gap to 7-10. However, that was as far as he could go.

Labutis went on to win the next three racks to seal a 13-7 victory.

With this result, the Lithuanian cueist was crowned champion of the Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2025 and claimed his first Major title.

Labutis was undefeated throughout the tournament, defeating several top opponents, including former Major champions Carlo Biado and Robbie Capito.

For his triumph at the Hanoi Open Pool Championship 2025, Labutis received a prize of US$40,000, while runner-up Neuhausen earned $16,000.

The third edition of the Hanoi Open Pool Championship took place from October 7 to 12, featuring 256 players, including 128 top-ranked competitors from the World Nineball Tour — some of the biggest names in professional billiards today.

Vietnam was represented by 68 players.
