Louis Koo, Sammo Hung to headline Hong Kong film gala in Ho Chi Minh City

The event, themed ‘Together We Dare to Be Powerful,’ aims to promote Hong Kong cinema through a series of screenings and public appearances in Ho Chi Minh City.

Organized by the Asian Film Awards Academy in collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore, the gala is supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) and the Hong Kong Film Development Fund.

Screenings will take place at Galaxy Thiso Mall Sala in An Khanh Ward.

Koo and Hung are expected to attend the opening ceremony and promote the action film Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, in which they both appear.

The event will also feature screenings of Stuntman, documentary Four Trails, and the romantic drama Last Song for You.

Director Gavin Lin of Stuntman will meet with audiences after the screening.

“We’re impressed by the growth of Vietnam’s film market and the energy of its young audience,” said Josie Lin, executive director of the Asian Film Awards Academy.

“This is an important cultural milestone.”
