Vu has 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in sales, operations, and senior leadership roles at international hotel brands.
She spent more than five years at JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort & Spa in Costa Rica before returning to Vietnam to take leadership roles at InterContinental Long Beach Phu Quoc and Fusion Resort & Villas Danang.
Vu said she hoped her appointment would encourage other women to pursue careers in hospitality and take opportunities to advance into leadership positions.
“What I am most proud of is not simply being the first,” she said.
“I hope my journey can give other women greater confidence to pursue what they truly want and to step forward when opportunities arise.”
Vu said she felt a connection with Renaissance Danang Hoi An from her first days at the resort, describing it as her “second home.”
In her new role, she will work with the resort's team to strengthen its position in the Da Nang-Hoi An tourism market and create opportunities for employees to develop professionally.
Vu said she believes effective leadership involves building a workplace where employees feel trusted, can contribute ideas and have opportunities to grow.
Her leadership philosophy is to “lead with heart, always aim higher” while finding enjoyment in the work and experiences of the hospitality industry.
