Meta launches parental supervision tools for Threads in Vietnam

Threads is Meta's social media platform for text-based conversations.

Integrated into Meta’s Family Center, these monitoring tools enable parents to track how much time their teenagers spend on Threads each day and view their average daily usage over the past week.

To promote healthy digital habits, parents can set daily usage limits or restrict access during specific times and days.

If a teenager uses Threads across multiple devices, the set time limit will apply to their total cumulative usage.

Additionally, parents can limit or block access to Threads at night. 

By default, notifications are muted and automated replies are enabled from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am to minimize bedtime distractions.

The supervision features also give parents control over who can tag or mention their children in posts, as well as the ability to manage privacy settings and filter sensitive content.

According to Meta, the roll-out brings Threads in line with the parental control features already available on its other platforms, such as Instagram, offering a unified experience for families managing social media usage.
