The Miss Grand Vietnam organizers officially announced Bao Ngoc's withdrawal on Monday afternoon.
They said in a statement that the decision followed careful consideration of the investment direction and strategy initially developed for the Vietnamese representative.
Having multiple contestants from the same country competing in an international pageant during the same season could create unnecessary pressure, particularly through comparisons between representatives and divided audience attention and support, the statement said.
The situation also raised concerns about investment effectiveness and the strategy for supporting contestants, it added.
“We respect the choices and organizational direction of the MGI All Stars organizers. However, given the changes from the original direction, we believe this journey no longer aligns with our planned strategy and have decided to withdraw Ngo Bao Ngoc from the competition,” the Miss Grand Vietnam organizers said.
They added that they particularly appreciated the efforts, professionalism, and dedication that Bao Ngoc and her team had devoted to the preparations.
Although this journey cannot continue as planned, the experience, knowledge, and personal growth Bao Ngoc has gained will remain valuable assets for her future endeavors.
Earlier, Ngo Bao Ngoc was announced as Vietnam’s representative at MGI All Stars Season 2.
She previously competed in the international modeling competition Supermodel Me and has worked in modeling and film.
With her performance experience, catwalk skills and stage presence, Bao Ngoc had been expected to make her mark in the competition, which brings together beauty queens who have previously competed in international pageants.
Miss Grand International president Nawat Itsaragrisil had earlier announced that Vietnam could have more than one representative at MGI All Stars Season 2.
The inaugural MGI All Stars competition took place in Thailand in May 2026, bringing together 56 contestants from 38 countries and territories.
Colombia's Vanessa Pulgarín won the title, while Ghana's Faith Maria Porter finished as first runner-up. Vietnam's representative, Huong Giang, was named second runner-up.
The second season of MGI All Stars is scheduled to take place in Thailand from November 26 to December 12.
