His parents and relatives arrived at the scene on Wednesday.

His mother collapsed at one point and required medical care, while his father joined rescuers on a speedboat to search offshore but returned in tears after no success.

Nguyen Xuan Dinh, vice-chairman of the Tuy Hoa Ward administration, said officials met with and encouraged the man's family on Wednesday morning and arranged medical support for his mother.

Local authorities, residents, and rescue teams continue searching for the missing tourist.

Earlier, Zhang went to Tuy Hoa beach with his girlfriend, L.D.B., a local resident, last Friday evening when he was swept away by strong waves.

Many local residents have voluntarily joined the search.

They contributed vehicles, including speedboats and drones, manpower, and financial support in hopes of recovering him.

The search has continued for nearly five days but has yet to yield any results.
