Mitsubishi Xpander MT 2026 debuts in Vietnam, priced at $21,700

In March, customers purchasing the Mitsubishi Xpander MT 2026 will receive a promotion covering 100 percent of the vehicle’s registration fee, equivalent to roughly VND57 million ($2,180).

The most notable update on the Xpander MT 2026 is its refreshed exterior design, which aligns with the higher-end AT Premium version.

The front end continues to feature Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield design language, highlighted by two large chrome bars and a sharply sculpted front bumper.

The headlight cluster has been redesigned in a T-shaped layout, paired with LED daytime running lights that connect seamlessly to the front grille.

The car rides on 16-inch multi-spoke silver alloy wheels, while the rear taillights also adopt the T-shaped lighting graphic, creating a cohesive design theme across the vehicle.

Dimensionally, the compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) has been slightly enlarged.

Overall length now measures 4,595 mm, an increase of 120 mm compared with the previous version.

Its ground clearance has also been raised to 225 mm, improving the vehicle’s capability when traveling on rough roads or through lightly flooded areas.

Inside the cabin, several updates focus on modernity and practicality.

Behind the steering wheel is an instrument cluster that integrates a seven-inch multi-information display.

The central infotainment system features a touchscreen that supports wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The steering wheel adopts the same design as the AT Premium variant but omits the integrated control buttons.

The seats are upholstered in fabric, with the second row gaining a center headrest and a fold-down armrest with integrated cupholders.

The Xpander MT retains its seven-seat configuration, with flexible folding seat rows that allow users to optimize cargo space depending on their needs.

The Xpander MT 2026 is powered by a 1.5-liter MIVEC gasoline engine that meets Euro 5 emissions standards and is compatible with E10 biofuel.

The engine produces 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

According to the manufacturer, the vehicle delivers an average fuel consumption of 6.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

Standard safety equipment includes active stability control, hill start assist, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, and two front airbags.

The addition of the new Xpander MT variant is expected to intensify competition within Vietnam’s affordable MPV segment.

January data indicated that the Xpander continued to lead the segment and ranked as the second best-selling gasoline-powered car in the Vietnamese market, with sales reaching 1,938 units, followed by the Toyota Veloz Cross, which recorded 861 units sold.
