Over 15,600 officers and soldiers from Vietnam’s armed forces participated in the first full-scale rehearsal for the upcoming military parade slated for September 2 in Hanoi to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day and the August Revolution.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong, chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, highlighted that military artillery vehicles and specialized police vehicles will take part in the parade through Ba Dinh Square for the first time after 40 years since the National Day on September 2, 1985.
Alongside legendary wartime weapons like the T54 and T55 tanks and the Scud-B missile system, the parade will also showcase the newest, most advanced military technologies developed by Vietnam’s defense industry.
These include the T90 main battle tank, the Truong Son VCM-01 missile system developed by Vietnam’s military-run telecommunications company Viettel, and various modern UAVs entirely researched and manufactured domestically.
