Mother, son killed by lightning strike while working in south-central Vietnam field
A mother and her 10-year-old son were killed by a lightning strike while working on their farm in Ninh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam on Wednesday afternoon, a local official confirmed the same day.
Authorities in Phuoc Chinh Commune, Bac Ai District confirmed the tragic incident occurred around 3:30 pm, just as heavy rain began in the area.
The victims were identified as Ca Da Thi N., 45, and her son Ca Da Dinh Tr..
The two were tending to their crops when a bolt of lightning struck their location, killing them instantly.
Local officials said the family remains near poor.
