Nearly 1,000 runners from Vietnam and abroad are set to compete in trail-running race Vietnam Highlands Trail 2025 in Lam Dong Province on November 21 and 22.

The race is jointly organized by the Vietnam People’s Public Security Sports Association, the Lam Dong People’s Committee, and Nexus Sport Events.

According to the organizers, the event is intended to showcase Vietnam’s majestic trail routes on the global stage while promoting the rich natural beauty and unique cultural heritage of Vietnam’s Central Highlands region.

The Vietnam Highlands Trail is expected to serve as a bridge helping Vietnam gradually assert its position on the global trail-running map.

The 2025 race will feature three main distances, 10 km, 25 km, and 50 km, taking participants through some of the province’s most iconic landmarks.

All race distances are certified by the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) Index and the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), enabling Vietnamese athletes to accumulate points for entry into some of the world’s most prestigious trail races, such as the UTMB Mont-Blanc in France.

Held under the slogan ‘Conquer the Sacred Mountains – Continue the Legendary Story,’ the event will offer more than just a sporting challenge.

Each trail promises a deeply immersive cultural journey, guiding runners through endless pine forests, maple groves, and the famed mountain peaks of Lam Dong.

Besides, the Vietnam Highlands Trail 2025 will promote environmental responsibility through its ‘Leave No Trace’ policy.

The organizers will set up waste collection stations, use eco-friendly materials, and mobilize volunteers to assist and cheer on runners.

The Vietnam Highlands Trail 2025 is expected to become a landmark event for Vietnam’s sports movement, helping position Vietnam as an emerging destination in the global trail-running community.
