The Foton eView Connect electric van will soon be distributed in the Vietnamese market, a Foton Vietnam representative said at a recent event in Ho Chi Minh City, where the model was showcased.

Its official launch date has not yet been announced, however.

The Foton eView Connect measures 4,895mm in length, 1,810mm in width, and 1,960mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,100mm.

The model is longer and wider than the Kim Long GK48EV, but slightly lower in height.

The vehicle features the boxy design typical of cargo vans, with a short front section designed to maximize the rear storage area.

It is equipped with LED projector headlights, 16-inch wheels, and 195/75 tires.

All four wheels come with disc brakes.

Inside the cabin, the eView Connect offers three seats upholstered in fabric.

The van can be equipped with a 12.3-inch central infotainment display, while the electronic gear selector is positioned behind the steering wheel, following a design trend increasingly seen on modern vehicles.

Behind the cabin partition is a cargo compartment measuring 2,800mm in length, 1,760mm in width and 1,450mm in height.

According to the manufacturer, the van can carry a payload of more than one metric ton.

The Foton eView Connect is powered by a 125kW electric motor, producing a maximum torque of 245Nm.

The motor is paired with a 50.23kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack.

The electric van can travel up to 270 kilometers on a full charge.

Its 100kW DC fast-charging system allows the battery to charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in some 25 minutes.

Despite being positioned as a cargo van, the eView Connect comes with a relatively comprehensive safety package, including an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, cruise control, hill-start assist, hill descent control, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors combined with a reversing camera, and two airbags.

Once launched in Vietnam, the Foton eView Connect will compete directly with the Kim Long GK48EV, an electric van currently priced at around VND490 million (US$18,640).

The segment also includes the VinFast EC Van, which has a more compact size and sells for VND268 million ($10,190).

The arrival of the Foton eView Connect is expected to provide customers with another option for electric vans designed for transportation and delivery services.
