New-generation Jeep Wrangler, Ram 1500 debut in Vietnam

The Jeep Wrangler line-up is available in three versions: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon, priced at VND2.999 billion (US$114,170), VND3.299 billion ($125,585), and VND3.499 billion ($133,200), respectively.

Meanwhile, the Ram 1500 pickup arrives in Rebel and RHO trims.

The Ram 1500 Rebel sells for VND3.749 billion ($142,560), while the Rebel equipped with the RamBox storage system is priced at VND3.799 billion ($144,600).

The high-performance Ram 1500 RHO carries a price tag of VND5.499 billion ($209,300).

According to the distributor, customers purchasing the vehicles during the initial sales period will receive a Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia driving experience package, valued at VND100 million ($3,800).

The vehicles are also backed by a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, along with round-the-clock roadside assistance for three years.

Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler remains one of the most iconic models in the Jeep portfolio.

Tracing its heritage to the military Willys and CJ vehicles, the Wrangler is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the global off-road SUV segment.

The version launched in Vietnam is a mid-cycle update of the current generation.

It retains the model’s signature styling cues, including the seven-slot grille, round headlights, and removable doors and roof.

The windshield can also be folded down.

All Jeep Wrangler variants offered in Vietnam are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 270 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system.

Off-road technologies vary by trim level.

The Rubicon stands out with front and rear locking differentials, an electronic sway bar disconnect system, and a Rock-Trac transfer case featuring a 4:1 low-range ratio for enhanced capability in challenging terrain.

The Wrangler offers an approach angle of 43.9 degrees, a departure angle of 37 degrees, and a water-fording depth of up to 762 mm.

The interior of the SUV features a 12.3-inch central touchscreen running the Uconnect 5 operating system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Driver assistance features comprise adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and driver attention alert.

Beyond its off-road credentials, the Wrangler is positioned as a versatile SUV suitable for both urban commuting and outdoor adventures.

Ram 1500

Alongside the Wrangler, THACO Auto has launched the new-generation Ram 1500 in Vietnam.

The full-size pickup has long been a popular choice in North America, although it remains a niche offering in the Vietnamese market.

The Ram 1500 Rebel is designed to balance everyday usability with off-road capability.

It measures 5,903 mm in length and 2,062 mm in width, riding on 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.

The Ram 1500 RHO focuses on high-performance driving, measuring 5,936 mm long and 2,235 mm wide.

It is equipped with the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 suspension system, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, massage seats, and a 360-degree camera system.

The pickup’s chassis incorporates a high proportion of high-strength steel to enhance rigidity.

Combined with four-wheel drive and multiple driving modes, the Ram 1500 is engineered to perform across a wide range of driving conditions, from urban roads to demanding off-road environments.

One of the highlights of the Ram 1500 RHO is the RamBox cargo management system integrated into both sides of the bed that can provide an additional 207 liters of storage capacity.

The truck bed also features a 115V/400W power outlet for operating external electrical equipment.

Inside the Rebel, the cabin features a 14.5-inch infotainment display, a 10.25-inch passenger screen, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

Front seats offer power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and memory functions.

A major change for the new-generation Ram 1500 is the replacement of the traditional V8 engine with the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six, which delivers 420 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque.

The new Ram 1500 also comes with a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, lane-keeping assistance, automatic emergency braking, driver attention monitoring, and traffic sign recognition.
