New plug-in hybrid SUV set to debut in Vietnam with over 150km electric range

BYD is preparing to expand its product lineup in Vietnam with the introduction of the large SUV Ti7.

Although the model belongs to the Fangchengbao brand in China, it will be distributed under the BYD name in Vietnam.

Vo Minh Luc, CEO of BYD Vietnam, said that the Ti7 version sold in Vietnam will be equipped with seven seats to better meet the needs of local consumers.

The BYD Ti7 features a boxy design with strong, angular lines, creating a visual impression similar to the Land Rover Defender.

The SUV measures 5,146mm in length, 1,995mm in width, and 1,865mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920mm.

Compared with the Defender 110, the Ti7 is longer but slightly narrower.

Despite its rugged off-road-inspired styling, the Ti7 uses a unibody construction rather than a body-on-frame chassis.

Inside, the cabin follows the familiar design of current BYD models.

Highlights include a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a D-shaped steering wheel, an electronic gear selector positioned behind the steering wheel, and a combination of touch controls and physical buttons.

The BYD Ti7 is powered by the DM-p plug-in hybrid system, which combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors, producing a total output of over 600 horsepower.

The SUV will be available with two drivetrain options: rear-wheel drive (2WD) and all-wheel drive (4WD).

According to BYD dealers, the Ti7 in Vietnam will be offered in two variants: Dynamic 2WD and Premium 4WD.

Customers will have six exterior color choices and three interior color options.

Both versions share the same hybrid powertrain but differ in battery capacity and electric-only driving range.

The Dynamic 2WD variant uses a 26.6kWh battery pack, providing a maximum pure-electric range of 126 kilometers.

Meanwhile, the Premium 4WD version comes with a larger 35.6kWh battery, extending the electric-only range to 155 kilometers.

Notable equipment on the BYD Ti7 includes the DiSus-C electronically controlled suspension system, a 360-degree camera system with an underbody viewing function, and the DiPilot 5 intelligent driving assistance package.

Sources indicate that the BYD Ti7 has already arrived in Vietnam and is undergoing the necessary procedures before its official launch.
