The national weather agency said the south will continue facing heat through around Friday, with temperatures on Monday and Tuesday ranging from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius and some places exceeding 37 degrees Celsius.
Despite the heat, southern localities are still likely to see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
From around Saturday, rainfall is expected to increase.
In the north, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast through Tuesday, particularly in the northwest and northern mountains, where heavy rainfall could occur.
The agency warned of risks including squalls, lightning, hail, and strong winds, which may damage crops, houses, and infrastructure.
Localized downpours could also trigger flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.
From Wednesday, localized heat is forecast to begin in the north, expanding into widespread hot conditions between Thursday and Saturday.
By Sunday, the heat is expected to subside, with scattered showers and thunderstorms returning through Wednesday next week.
Central Vietnam will also face hot weather.
From Monday to Tuesday, the region will see sunny days with some areas experiencing heat, followed by evening showers.
From Wednesday to Sunday, widespread heat is expected in the northern and middle parts of central Vietnam, before gradually weakening afterward.
Along the south-central coast, sunny conditions will persist until Wednesday next week, with occasional showers at night.
The agency also warned of possible thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail and strong gusts.
