The ministry said that during the 24-hour period, doctors also performed more than 2,200 surgeries, including 407 emergency cases, while over 39,200 patients received medical care.

Nationwide, about 89,000 people were under treatment at healthcare facilities.

From last Saturday to Wednesday, a total of 8,358 babies were delivered across the country.

Blood reserves remained stable at nearly 20,000 units, thanks in part to young volunteers and families donating blood and platelets during Tet, the country’s most important holiday.

According to the report, in the previous 24 hours, 2,876 people were treated for suspected traffic accidents, with 1,189 patients requiring hospitalization or monitoring.

Authorities recorded 262 patient transfers due to traffic accidents during the same period, bringing the total over three days of Tet to 1,253.

There were 21 deaths suspected to be linked to traffic accidents in the last 24 hours, including eight deaths before hospital admission, three deaths in hospitals, and 10 critically ill patients who were discharged at family request with a poor prognosis.

Fireworks- and firecracker-related incidents were also reported.

Sixty-six people sought medical care for such injuries in the past 24 hours, with 34 hospitalized.

Over four days, authorities recorded 267 cases and 141 hospitalizations linked to fireworks or firecrackers.

Infectious disease surveillance showed relatively stable conditions.

Health authorities recorded 144 dengue fever cases, 134 hand-foot-and-mouth disease cases, and 14 measles cases, with no deaths reported.

Other diseases, including diphtheria and Streptococcus suis infection, were not detected, and no major outbreaks were recorded.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that hospitals nationwide were well-prepared, with sufficient supplies of medicine and no shortages reported during the holiday.
