This figure marks an early result of a 50-day nationwide campaign to raise awareness and streamline digital ID registration for foreigners.
The campaign runs from July 1 to August 19, targeting foreigners who hold temporary or permanent residence cards and have registered Vietnamese phone numbers.
Foreigners may apply for level-2 digital ID accounts at one of three designated police offices:
- 196 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Xuan Hoa Ward
- 239 Ngo Gia Tu Street, Thu Dau Mot Ward
- 120 Pham Hung Street, Ba Ria Ward
Application hours are from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm daily, excluding weekends and public holidays.

Authorities emphasized that digital ID accounts enable foreigners to access public services more conveniently and transparently through the VNeID app, reducing paperwork and administrative delays.
Built on advanced technology, Vietnam’s digital ID system offers high security, helping verify legal identity, prevent forgery, and support smooth integration into Vietnamese society.
It also facilitates equal access to essential services and community participation.
