Police in Bach Mai Ward, Hanoi said on Wednesday that they were verifying public reports that a local photo booth had allegedly filmed and leaked sensitive images of customers while they were changing clothes.

N.D.T., a resident of Hoan Kiem Ward, said that around 8:30 am on September 23, his daughter, N.T.B.K., 18, and three friends visited a Korean-style photo studio on Bach Mai Street to have their pictures taken.

After registering, K. waited for her turn to change outfits in a room located in the middle of the shop, where other customers had previously changed.

When the earlier group left, K. and a friend asked the staff where they could change but received no response.

Assuming the same room was intended for that purpose, the two young women used it to change clothes before taking part in a photo booth session.

On October 24, K. discovered that videos showing her and her friend changing clothes at the photo booth had been circulated on an adult website.

T. said his family later found a total of 25 clips of his daughter and her friend shared across multiple websites and adult forums.

He added that at least 27 other individuals appeared to have been filmed in the same manner.

After uncovering the videos, the family came to the photo studio and found a camera installed inside the changing room.

T. recounted that he asked a representative from the studio why a camera was placed in a room full of costumes where customers change, but received no clear explanations.

In response, the studio claimed that the room was not intended for changing clothes.
