The provincial police department on Thursday confirmed that officers in Duong Dong Ward had successfully facilitated the return of the lost wallet and its contents to their rightful owner.
Earlier, Tran Tin Nghia, a 51-year-old resident of Ho Chi Minh City, who was staying at a hotel in Duong To Commune, found a wallet while walking along Dinh Cau Beach.
Inside the wallet were one million won, a credit card, and personal documents.
Nghia promptly reported the discovery to local police and handed over the wallet, requesting assistance in locating the owner.
Duong Dong Ward police collaborated with the immigration management division to verify the wallet’s ownership.
Their investigation confirmed that it belonged to Son Yong Ho, a South Korean national who had accidentally dropped it on the beach.
After being reunited with his lost belongings, Son expressed his gratitude to Nghia and the local police for their support in recovering his property.
