Major General Nguyen Huu Phuoc, director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Public Security, said the force would relocate some units to allow restoration of colonial-period buildings and preserve their original architectural features.
One of the buildings is a former French-era villa now serving as the provincial traffic police headquarters in central Nha Trang.
Police are considering moving the unit to a new location before renovating the site and removing later structural additions, Phuoc said.
The restored building would be used as an exhibition space for photography, painting, and sculpture and to display materials on the history of Khanh Hoa's police force, he added.

Another French-era villa, currently occupied by a provincial police unit at a central intersection, may also be restored and converted into an open cultural venue for retired officers, residents, and visitors.
The plans were outlined at a meeting with local media earlier this week.
Authorities did not provide a timeline or funding details.
Nha Trang, a major tourism hub in central Vietnam, retains a number of colonial-period buildings alongside modern development.
