The provincial economic police unit said it is working with other agencies to complete the investigation into the large-scale production of coffee products that show signs of failing to meet quality standards.

On Tuesday, officers stopped a truck driven by a 27-year-old man in Bao Lam 3 Commune during a routine inspection, police said.

Inside the vehicle, authorities found more than 1,000 packaged coffee products with a total weight of about 0.5 tonnes.

The driver was unable to provide invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods, prompting investigators to expand the probe to trace their source.

Police later identified the shipment as being linked to W.C. Company, based in Gia Nghia area in Lam Dong Province, which now includes the former Dak Nong Province following July 2025 administrative changes.

The company’s legal representative, identified as L.V.K., acknowledged that the seized products were manufactured by the firm.

A subsequent inspection of the company’s production facility uncovered nearly 8,000 additional packages of finished coffee products weighing more than 4.1 tonnes, along with about three tonnes of raw materials and machinery used in the production process.

Investigators said the company’s representative admitted instructing employees to mix soybean beans with coffee and flavoring agents to produce low-priced products sold on the market.
