Renovated Ho Chi Minh Museum to be inaugurated alongside major projects

The renovation and refurbishment of the museum is one of four projects to be inaugurated by the Ho Chi Minh City administration on Saturday. 

The three others involve the renovation and upgrade of Building C at Marie Curie High School, the construction and renovation of Vo Truong Toan High School in the former District 12, and the upgrade of Tran Van Giau High School.

The inaugurations will be held as the city simultaneously breaks ground on a range of major projects in transport, urban redevelopment, social housing, environmental improvement, and technology.

Among the projects are the redevelopment of the Ma Lang and Ga-Gao Market areas, the expansion of National Highways 13 and 1, two sections of Beltway 4, the Binh Duong water environment improvement project, two social housing developments, and an AI Factory data center at Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park.

The Ma Lang and Ga-Gao Market redevelopment project, with preliminary investment of around VND16.37 trillion ($627.56 million), is expected to transform two densely populated and deteriorating inner-city neighborhoods into modern residential areas.

All affected households will be offered on-site resettlement.

Meanwhile, the upgrade and expansion of National Highway 13 from Binh Trieu Bridge to the boundary of the former Binh Duong Province comprises two component projects with combined investment of about VND20.68 trillion ($792.79 million).

The route is a major gateway to Ho Chi Minh City and plays an important role in both daily commuting and regional connectivity.

City authorities said the projects are expected to improve infrastructure, strengthen regional links, expand urban and industrial development space, and enhance residents’ living conditions and access to education.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Beltway 4, two sections of which were among the projects launched on Saturday, is the largest road infrastructure project ever planned for Vietnam’s southeastern region.

Approved by the National Assembly in June 2025, the roughly 160-kilometer project carries a total investment of more than VND120.4 trillion ($4.62 billion).

The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies will be organized at two locations, with the main venue at the National Highway 13 project and a second site at the Ma Lang and Ga-Gao Market redevelopment project.
