The figures were released by the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at a program titled “Da Nang and Russia-CIS: Building on Partnership, Creating the Future” on Friday afternoon, attended by 150 representatives from travel agencies, airlines, accommodation providers, tourist attractions and other partners.
The more than 400,000 visitors from Russia and other CIS countries to Da Nang accounted for around 5.8 percent of the city’s total international arrivals, according to the department.
Russia was the seventh-largest source market among Da Nang’s top 10 international tourist markets.
Other CIS markets recorded more than 112,000 arrivals, up 20.8 percent compared with the same period last year.
The strong recovery in Russian and CIS arrivals is creating more room for Da Nang to develop long-stay beach holidays, wellness tourism, cuisine and cultural experiences.
In 2026, Da Nang has carried out promotional activities both in person and online in Russia and CIS countries.
In March, the city’s tourism sector attended MITT Moscow 2026, an international travel trade show, to attract more visitors from the market.
Da Nang also promoted the destination through the Yandex ecosystem, reaching around 17.2 million users in Russia and the CIS, generating about 63.4 million impressions, 862,700 clicks and 523,000 visits to the Danang Fantasticity website.
Russia became the largest source of traffic to Danang Fantasticity, operated by the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, in May and June 2026, accounting for 54-60 percent of total traffic.
Yandex data also showed that searches for Da Nang had increased about threefold from the same period last year since the campaign was launched.

Along with promotional efforts, Da Nang has worked with airlines, travel companies and partners in Russia and the CIS to expand air connectivity and organize flight welcome ceremonies, familiarization trips, press trips and business networking events.
During the summer 2026, flights from CIS countries to Da Nang reached around 16 services per week, with connections from Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan and Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
In Russia, charter flights connected Da Nang with cities including Moscow, Kazan, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk, Novokuznetsk, Barnaul, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk.
In April 2026, Da Nang organized a welcome for the launch of the Astana-Da Nang route and a familiarization trip for 220 visitors from Kazakhstan and other CIS markets.
The city also welcomed a flight from Vladivostok on April 16 and the first flight from Moscow on May 23.
Familiarization trips from Russia and the CIS and Russian press trips were organized to give partners firsthand experience of Da Nang’s tourism products, services and attractions.
The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said coordination among authorities, airlines, travel companies, accommodation providers, tourist attractions and the media was one of the factors contributing to the growth of the Russia-CIS market this year.

Sharing her views on tapping the Russian and CIS markets in Da Nang, Vo Thai Minh, contract director at Anex Vietnam Travel and Trading Co. Ltd., said the markets are well suited to Da Nang because of tourists’ demand for beach holidays, combined sightseeing and experiential activities, and longer stays.
After six months of operation, more than 80 percent of the tourists brought to Da Nang by Anex Vietnam chose four- or five-star hotels, with an average stay of at least 10 nights.
Anex Vietnam’s experience shows that these visitors not only generate tourist arrivals but can also bring value to the accommodation and tourism service sectors, Minh said.
Da Nang still has significant room to develop this market, particularly by diversifying tourism products, developing all-inclusive packages and offering flexible pricing based on seasonality and length of stay, she said.
Anex Vietnam aims to bring 98,000 Russian and CIS visitors to Da Nang in 2027.
At the program, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism honored 12 partners for their contributions to attracting and connecting Russian and CIS tourists with the city.
