Scoot Airlines opens Singapore-Da Nang direct route

The inaugural flight, carrying 174 passengers, departed from Changi Airport and landed at Da Nang International Airport on Monday afternoon, marking the beginning of the airline’s regular service to the central Vietnamese city.

The new route operates three flights a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft, which have a seating capacity ranging from 180 to 186 passengers.

The airline plans to increase the frequency to seven weekly flights starting January next year.

A formal welcome ceremony was held at Da Nang International Airport to celebrate the first Scoot Airlines flight to the city.

Local officials and tourism representatives were present to greet arriving passengers and airline personnel.

Tan Van Vuong, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, noted that the number of visitors from Singapore to the city has shown steady growth over the years.

The addition of Scoot Airlines’ new route further strengthens air connectivity between the two destinations.

With Scoot Airlines joining Singapore Airlines and Vietjet Air on the Singapore-Da Nang route, the total number of weekly flights between the two destinations has soared to 24.

Scoot Airlines is a low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines Group, offering medium- and long-haul flights to over 70 destinations across 16 countries.

In Vietnam, the airline already operates direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Phu Quoc, and is planning to expand service to Cam Ranh in south-central Vietnam in the near future.
