The Sony-Marvel blockbuster is still drawing around 1,200 screenings a day in Vietnam, according to Box Office Vietnam, trailing Vietnamese comedy Zero Meets Hero.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has emerged as one of the fastest films to surpass $2 billion at the global box office.
The film opened with $932 million worldwide, including a record $360 million in North America, and crossed the $1 billion mark within days.
After just three weekends, its global haul has topped $2 billion, making it the eighth film ever to reach the milestone and the second-fastest after Avengers: Endgame.
It has also surpassed Spider-Man: No Way Home, which earned $1.92 billion worldwide, to become Sony’s highest-grossing film of all time.
The latest installment underscores Spider-Man’s enduring appeal across generations.
From Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to Tom Holland, the character has been portrayed by different actors while retaining the qualities that have made him one of the world’s most recognizable superheroes.
Holland, who has played Peter Parker since Captain America: Civil War (2016), returns as the web-slinging hero in Brand New Day.
Although Peter Parker has superhuman abilities, his struggles remain deeply human, revolving around growing up, relationships, insecurity and responsibility.
That balance has helped Spider-Man remain relatable even as audiences become more selective about superhero movies.
Brand New Day follows the multiverse-driven Spider-Man: No Way Home with a more grounded story, while continuing to connect Peter Parker to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Its strong box-office performance suggests that audiences may not be tired of superhero movies altogether, but are increasingly looking for stories that offer something beyond familiar franchise formulas.
The film’s success could also deliver Holland one of the biggest paydays of his career.
According to TheWrap, the 30-year-old actor received at least $20 million upfront for Brand New Day, $10 million more than his previous Spider-Man salary.

His contract reportedly includes uncapped backend bonuses, meaning his total earnings from the film could exceed $100 million as the worldwide box office continues to grow.
That would mark a dramatic increase from the estimated $250,000 Holland earned for his first appearance as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War (2016).
His reported salary subsequently rose to around $500,000 for Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), $4 million for Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and $10 million for Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
The enormous payday puts him among Hollywood’s highest-paid actors, with his earnings further boosted by his role in another major 2026 blockbuster, The Odyssey.
