Local administrations across Xuan Huong-Da Lat, Lam Vien-Da Lat, Xuan Truong-Da Lat, Cam Ly-Da Lat, and Lang Biang-Da Lat Wards announced on Thursday evening that students at all levels would remain home to avoid the storm's impact.
Schools were instructed to remind students to seek safe shelter and refrain from traveling during severe weather.
Da Lat University also announced a temporary closure, moving all classes and operations online to maintain learning continuity while ensuring the safety of students and staff.
Le Thi Bich Lien, director of the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training, said the department had authorized local administrations and schools to decide on temporary suspensions in areas at risk of flooding, landslides, or strong winds.
Make-up classes will be scheduled once conditions improve.
The department also ordered schools to suspend all extracurricular activities, field trips, and outdoor events during the storm.
Institutions, particularly those with boarding students, were required to prepare backup power, water, medical supplies, and essential food to ensure safe living conditions.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm Kalmaegi, the 13th to hit the East Vietnam Sea this year, weakened into a tropical depression early on Friday morning after causing widespread damage across several central Vietnamese provinces, particularly coastal communities, when it made landfall late on Thursday.
