The port is expected to serve as an important waterway transport hub for cargo operations and tourist excursions to well-known islets, including Thom, May Rut and Mong Tay.
The super port can accommodate vessels of up to 3,000 deadweight tons (DWT) and is equipped with warehouses, storage and loading areas, as well as supporting facilities.
Relevant authorities and operators will gradually refine operational procedures, strengthen maritime safety and improve service quality, with the aim of promoting Phu Quoc’s marine and island tourism.
