The Quang Ngai People's Committee said on Tuesday that vice-chairman Tran Phuoc Hien had met with the Swedish investor to discuss the proposal and support research into the project.
According to the proposal, the resort would be developed on a site of approximately 4.5 hectares in Vi Choong Village, Kon Plong Commune.
The project is envisioned as a premium wellness retreat that incorporates green technologies, renewable energy, and solutions aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The investor plans to build and operate the resort in accordance with international standards, using circular energy systems and clean energy sources to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
Once operational, the project is expected to capitalize on the area's natural landscapes and distinctive climate while contributing to the development of high-quality eco-tourism in the locality.
The resort is also expected to directly create around 300 jobs.
At the meeting, Tran Phuoc Hien praised the investment proposal, describing it as consistent with the global trend toward green growth and sustainable development.
He affirmed that Quang Ngai authorities would facilitate the investor's site surveys, research activities, and administrative procedures to help accelerate the project's implementation.
The provincial leader also expressed hope that the project would become not only a high-end resort but also a pilot model for green development, clean-energy applications, and the circular economy.
He said the project could help open a new direction for eco-tourism while supporting green growth and sustainable economic development in the province.
If realized, the resort would be among the few net-zero tourism projects in central Vietnam and could enhance Quang Ngai's appeal in attracting high-quality, environmentally friendly investment.
