Tetra Pak, Doveco launch Vietnam’s first Tetra Recart® line, usher in new era of food packaging innovation

This milestone marks a significant advancement in the country's food and beverage industry, offering manufacturers a modern, efficient, and sustainable alternative to traditional packaging formats, the company said in a press release.

Designed for shelf-stable foods, Tetra Recart® is a paper-based carton solution that combines high-speed processing with retort sterilization, ensuring a long shelf life while preserving the taste, texture, and nutritional value of the food.

With a capacity of up to 6,000 cartons per hour, the Tetra Recart® line enables producers to optimize operations, reduce packaging weight and waste, and respond to growing consumer demand for convenient, preservative-free products.

The first Tetra Recart® packaging line in Vietnam will be commissioned at Doveco plant in northern Son La Province this July.

As one of Vietnam's leading enterprises in fruit and vegetable cultivation and processing, Doveco's adoption of this technology reflects a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and value creation across the food supply chain.

Nguyen Thanh Giang, managing director at Tetra Pak Vietnam, said the launch marks a significant step for Vietnam's food industry, helping local producers improve quality and efficiency to meet market demands.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving sustainable growth.

The new packaging line will process premium Vietnamese produce – including sweet corn, pineapple juice, and assorted beans – into recyclable, lightweight cartons.

These products will be available in retail outlets nationwide from Wednesday, offering consumers a fresh and sustainable alternative to other packaged products.

Beyond its technical capabilities, the Tetra Recart® packaging line installed in Doveco's largest factory contributes to broader economic and social development.

It supports the consumption and export of locally grown produce, creates employment opportunities, and strengthens the agricultural value chain of farmers and cooperatives across Son La and neighboring provinces.

The introduction of the Tetra Recart® packaging line in Vietnam comes at a pivotal moment for the Southeast Asian country's food and beverage industry, which is projected to reach US$96.68 billion by 2025 and continue expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.74 percent through to 2030.
