The visit will be made at the invitation of Vietnam's Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, according to a communiqué issued on Friday by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The third ASEAN Future Forum will take place in Hanoi on Tuesday and Wednesday under the theme ‘Shaping a shared future together: Peace, Prosperity and People-Centered Development.’

More than 600 delegates have registered, including scholars, researchers, businesses, and organizations.

Discussions will focus on resilience, conflict prevention, artificial intelligence, and energy security.

PM Anutin’s visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.

It follows Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam’s official visit to Thailand from May 27-29, during which both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership.

During their talks in Bangkok on May 28, PM Anutin emphasized Vietnam’s importance as one of Thailand’s top regional partners.

Both leaders agreed to boost economic connectivity and aim to raise bilateral trade to US$25 billion, ensuring balanced and sustainable growth.

Earlier, on May 8, while attending the 48th ASEAN Summit in the Philippines, PM Hung met with PM Anutin, who emphasized Thailand's desire to expand cooperation with Vietnam and further advance bilateral relations.

Thailand is currently Vietnam’s largest trading partner within ASEAN, with two-way trade reaching $22.1 billion in 2025.

Thailand has 797 active investment projects in Vietnam with total registered capital of $15.4 billion, making it the second-largest ASEAN investor and the eighth-largest foreign investor overall among 153 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.

Vietnam and Thailand are also advancing the implementation of their ‘Three Connections’ strategy, which focuses on strengthening supply chains, business partnerships and cooperation between localities, while promoting sustainable growth initiatives.

Tourism and cultural exchanges are also thriving.

Last year, more than 660,300 Vietnamese tourists visited Thailand, while nearly 458,000 Thai travelers came to Vietnam.

Twenty Vietnamese provinces and cities have signed cooperation or twinning agreements with Thai localities.
