Thanh Hoa's authorities tighten safety measures at Bat Cave after rockfall

On Saturday morning, the Pu Luong Commune People's Committee implemented the recommendation of the Pu Luong Nature Reserve management board to suspend visits to Bat Cave, which is located within the protected forest, after falling rocks were reported inside the cave.

According to the commune authorities, an inspection found that the cave in Kho Muong Village has complex terrain and geological conditions. 

Soil and rocks have been falling sporadically inside the cave, with some areas posing safety risks to visitors.

To prevent accidents and protect the lives and health of residents and tourists, the chairman of the Pu Luong Commune People's Committee advised residents and visitors not to enter or explore Bat Cave on their own.

Tourism organizations, businesses, individuals and tour guides have also been asked not to organize or lead visitors into the cave until authorities announce that safety conditions have been secured.

Residents and visitors are urged to follow warning signs and instructions from authorities and not approach or enter areas that have been cordoned off or marked as dangerous.

The Pu Luong Commune Police have been assigned to work with relevant agencies to increase inspections and monitor activities involving visitors entering Bat Cave.

They will also remind visitors and prevent unauthorized tours of areas deemed unsafe, while helping maintain security during inspections and surveys and handling any incidents at the site.

If organizations or individuals deliberately violate the restrictions or put tourists at risk, the police will advise the commune authorities on appropriate action or report the cases to the relevant authorities for further handling.

The Pu Luong Commune People's Committee has assigned the Kho Muong Village management board to widely inform local residents about safety risks at Bat Cave.

The board will also arrange personnel to regularly monitor the area and remind residents and visitors not to enter dangerous areas.

Tourism organizations and businesses have been asked not to promote, introduce or organize tours to Bat Cave while authorities are inspecting and assessing safety conditions at the site.
