Party chief and President Lam, his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, and a high-level Vietnamese delegation earlier attended a state banquet hosted by Xi and his spouse Peng Liyuan, as part of Lam’s state visit to China from Tuesday through Friday.
After the formal banquet concluded, Xi and Peng invited Lam and his wife to a farewell tea session, described by officials as a special diplomatic format reserved for top leaders of the two Parties and nations.
The gesture symbolized mutual respect and long-standing friendship between the leadership of Vietnam and China.

Both sides praised the achievements of the visit and agreed to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership and build a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance in a new era of development.
Earlier the same day, Xi and Lam met with Vietnamese and Chinese and youth representatives participating in the ‘Red Study Tours.’

He encouraged them to build strong ideals, embrace innovation, master science and technology, and contribute to national development and bilateral relations.
