Top spots to watch Da Nang’s fireworks ahead of DIFF 2026 grand finale

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) is one of Vietnam’s largest annual tourism events, bringing together international pyrotechnic teams for weeks of competition along the Han River while drawing thousands of visitors to the central Vietnam’s coastal city.

At DIFF 2026, Australia and Portugal wrapped up the qualifying round with brilliant displays, setting the stage for the grand finale on July 11, which will mark the final competition night of this year’s event.

Throughout the festival, not only have the official grandstands been filled, but bridges, high-rise buildings, beaches, and street corners across Da Nang have also become popular gathering spots for residents and visitors eager to watch the fireworks.

The city has effectively turned into one giant open grandstand, with each location offering its own distinctive perspective on the spectacular fireworks.

Among the most popular viewing points are Dragon Bridge, Han River Bridge, and Thuan Phuoc Bridge, where spectators can enjoy unobstructed views of fireworks bursting above the river and reflecting off its waters.

From high-rise buildings overlooking the Han River, the display takes on a different character.

Seen from above, bursts of color from fireworks light up the city’s bridges, streets, and moving traffic, creating a vibrant nighttime panorama in Da Nang.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Tat Thanh Beach offers a more relaxed setting for watching the fireworks.

Families spread blankets across the sand, enjoying food and drinks while listening to the sound of the waves before fireworks bloom along the horizon.

The open shoreline and cool sea breeze provide an exceptionally different experience from the crowds gathered in the city center.

Others have found quieter ways to enjoy the displays without venturing into the busiest areas.

From apartment balconies, rooftop terraces, and street corners with unobstructed views, residents and visitors can still watch the fireworks illuminate the skies above the Han River.

For those willing to travel farther from downtown, the Son Tra Peninsula, located in the northeastern part, has become one of the city’s favored viewing locations.

From winding hillside roads and elevated lookout points, spectators can take in sweeping views of Da Nang, where fireworks light up the skyline above the Han River while the city’s lights stretch out below.

For photography enthusiasts, each fireworks display offers an opportunity to discover a new vantage point.

Choosing a tall building in Hoa Khanh Ward to capture this year’s festival, photographer Quoc Vu said the location offers a sweeping view across the city, where bursts of fireworks stand out against the night sky, with the distant Lady Buddha statue and Bo De Zen Monastery visible on the horizon.

“Da Nang has countless great places to watch the fireworks, and each offers a different experience,” Vu said.

“Some people prefer sitting by the beach, listening to the waves as they watch the show. Others like seeing the city from above, while some find that standing on a bridge is enough to make the night unforgettable.

"Those different perspectives are what make every DIFF season unique.”

Few festivals turn an entire city into an open-air grandstand quite like DIFF.

Beyond the dazzling performances by international fireworks teams, the festival has also showcased Da Nang itself, with its skyline, bridges, and waterfront providing a backdrop to the annual event.
