According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event took place between the country’s foreign minister Le Hoai Trung and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
Trung said the talks underscored the high level of political trust, strategic ties, and substantive cooperation between the two countries.
He stated that strengthening relations with China remains a strategic choice and top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and multilateralization and diversification of external relations.
Trung expressed confidence in China’s continued growth and its contributions to regional and global peace, stability, and development.

Wang responded that China supports the leadership of Vietnam’s Party, led by General Secretary To Lam, and is ready to deepen strategic trust and cooperation to deliver tangible benefits to both nations.
Both ministers agreed that their foreign ministries should closely follow high-level consensus, strengthen coordination, and advance the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
They highlighted the goal of building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future of strategic significance.

Trung proposed that both ministries improve the quality and effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, promote balanced and sustainable trade, and expand China’s imports of Vietnamese goods, particularly agricultural products.
He also called for more high-quality investment, technology transfer in industrial cooperation, and closer collaboration on energy security.
Additionally, he requested China to increase scholarships for Vietnamese students, particularly in basic sciences and high technology, and to boost tourism and cultural exchanges.
Wang welcomed these proposals, saying China is ready to encourage major enterprises to expand investment in Vietnam, provide more scholarships, and strengthen cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges.
Both sides also held candid discussions on maritime issues and regional and international matters of mutual concern.
