Trade-tourism-food fair kicks off in Ha Long

A trade-tourism-food fair, part of the Ha Long Carnival, has opened in Ha Long City in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

With more than 100 Vietnamese enterprises and organizations showcasing 120 stalls, the event brings high-quality Vietnamese products and services, including garment-textile, machines, farm produce, processed food, arts and handicrafts, household goods and tourism, to local people.

It is also accompanied by fashion and comedy shows.

The 2013 Ha Long Carnival, the seventh of its kind held in the province annually, is held to draw attention to its tourism potential. The street show of the event has attracted more than 5,000 local artists, models and dancers, and art troupes from China, Laos and the Republic of Korea, together with a parade of six flower carriages featuring Quang Ninh’s tourism resources.

“The fair offers Quang Ninh a chance to introduce its tourism potential to visitors. It also helps local businesses promote their brands and expand links with domestic and international partners,” Do Khanh Tung, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, told the Vietnam News Agency.
