On Monday morning, dozens of trees toppled along this stretch. In some sections, up to four trees had fallen consecutively.
A local worker reported that more than ten trees had collapsed.
Recovery efforts are currently underway.
A worker deals with a fallen tree in Da Nang City, central Vietnam.
Back in August 2025, many trees were uprooted and many others had bare branches along Thang Long Street, from Asia Park to the border of the former Cam Le District in Da Nang.
The project’s investor later instructed the contractor to address the problem.
The landscape improvement project along the riverside sidewalk of Thang Long Street is the first in Da Nang proposed to feature the planting of golden trumpet trees to enhance the scenic space and provide shade for the Cam Le riverside area.
In addition to preserving existing shade trees along the sidewalk, the project involved relocating unsuitable trees and planting new ones.
A whole row of trees topples near the area under Tien Son Bridge in Da Nang City, central Vietnam.
The project also includes the installation of two clusters of smart public restrooms, equipped with automatic sensor doors and high-end, antibacterial, eco-friendly fixtures.
Along the riverside sidewalk from Asia Park to the border of the former Cam Le District, the development also features a bicycle path, a natural stone walkway, stone benches, and outdoor exercise equipment to create a recreational and exercise space for residents and visitors.
A new decorative lighting system was also installed.
A tree lies completely uprooted.
The investor of the project, with a total investment of VND44.2 billion (US$1.7 million), is the Da Nang Management Board for Transport and Agriculture Projects.
The construction was carried out by a consortium of Quang Minh Construction Company, Soi Sang Construction Company, and Kinh Bac Design and Construction JSC.
Trees along the riverside sidewalk of Thang Long Street in Da Nang City fall due to strong winds triggered by storm Bualoi.
The project broke ground in April 2024 and was completed and put into use on March 24, 2025.
Storm Bualoi made landfall in Ha Tinh Province, north-central Vietnam at 1:00 am on Monday and remained over the Ha Tinh–Nghe An area as of 6:00 am, bringing winds of 75–100 kph.
