The meeting was attended by Le Xuan Trung, deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre, and Yoshiki Kishida, executive director for international affairs at Jiji Press, along with other representatives of Tuoi Tre.
Kishida expressed his impression after attending a ceremony on Thursday in Ho Chi Minh City to mark Tuoi Tre’s 50th anniversary (September 2, 1975 - 2025), congratulating the newspaper on reaching this significant milestone.

He praised Tuoi Tre’s steady growth over five decades to become one of Vietnam’s most respected newspapers, representing the voice of a broad readership across the country.
The Jiji Press representative expressed his hope that the partnership with Tuoi Tre will continue to flourish on the basis of trust, sincerity, and shared goals.
Kishida highlighted the significance of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in March 2025, noting that it coincided with Tuoi Tre’s 50th anniversary and Jiji Press’s 80th anniversary this year.

As per the deal, Tuoi Tre News, the daily’s English edition, and Jiji Press can share and use each other’s English-language news content.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to feature each other’s logos on their respective websites.
Alongside reviewing the effectiveness of the MoU, the two sides also discussed strategies to diversify revenue streams and attract younger readers in the age of social media dominance.

According to Trung, organizing events has been one of Tuoi Tre’s approaches to increasing revenue.
Strengthening cooperation with domestic and international partners is part of the newspaper’s strategic direction.
He cited several successful events organized by Tuoi Tre in recent years, such as the 'Vietnam Phở Festival' in Japan, South Korea, and soon Singapore, to promote Vietnamese cuisine internationally.
Trung also pointed to the 'Cashless Day' program, first launched by Tuoi Tre in 2019, which has become an annual national event under the direction of the State Bank of Vietnam.

To better reach younger readers, Tuoi Tre has been adapting its news delivery to be multilingual and multi-platform to suit shifting reader preferences.
Both sides also discussed the potential for collaborating on conferences and events related to Vietnam and Japan, aimed at fostering stronger and more sustainable connections between the two countries.
