Vietnam 9th-grade student dies after collapsing during PE class

The incident occurred at about 7:20 am on Friday at Chu Van An Middle School in Bac Gia Nghia Ward, according to a report from the ward's People's Committee sent to the provincial Department of Education and relevant agencies.

The student, identified as G.B. from class 9A3, fainted while warming up with classmates ahead of a basketball lesson.

Teachers administered first aid and took the student to hospital, but the student died at about 8:45 am the same day.

School officials, local organizations and authorities later visited the family and provided support for funeral arrangements.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and is awaiting conclusions from relevant authorities, the People's Committee said.
