The national flag carrier will operate four round-trip flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, using Airbus A321 aircraft.

Flights from Hanoi will depart at 5:35 pm and arrive in Ahmedabad at 9:30 pm local time.

Return flights will leave Ahmedabad at 10:45 pm and land in Hanoi at 4:35 am the following day.

Ahmedabad, located in the Indian state of Gujarat, will become Vietnam Airlines’ fifth destination in India, alongside Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

Vietnam Airlines currently connects Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with major cities across northern, western, and southern India, serving growing travel demand between the two countries.

To mark the launch, the carrier is offering round-trip tickets on the Hanoi-Ahmedabad route starting at VND6.3 million (US$243), including taxes and fees.

The promotion is available for bookings through December 31, 2026 for journeys departing from November 3, 2026.

The new route comes as travel between Vietnam and India continues to grow.

India is Vietnam’s eighth largest international tourist market, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam welcomed over 670,000 Indian visitors, up 33 percent year on year. Popular destinations include Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc.

Nguyen Quang Trung, deputy CEO at Vietnam Airlines, was cited by Nhan Dan (People) newspaper as saying that expanding the carrier’s network in India is an important part of its strategy to strengthen direct connections between the two countries’ economic and tourism hubs.

“Adding Ahmedabad to our network gives the airline another gateway to western India, enhancing tourism, trade, and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Gujarat state in particular, and India as a whole,” Trung said.

Since early this year, Vietnam Airlines has continued to expand its international network, launching new services to Amsterdam, Colombo, and Phuket, while increasing frequencies to destinations such as Munich, Moscow, Taipei, Osaka, Tokyo, and Seoul.
