Vietnam Airlines to launch Hanoi–Hangzhou route next month

The new route will make it easier for passengers to explore Hangzhou while creating more opportunities for trade between the two countries.

Flights will operate every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday on Airbus A321 aircraft, with a flight time of approximately three hours.

To mark the launch, Vietnam Airlines is offering round-trip fares from Hanoi to Hangzhou starting at VND7.25 million (US$279.5), inclusive of taxes and fees.

The promotion applies to tickets purchased by October 26, 2026 for travel from November 22, 2026 to March 31, 2027, excluding certain peak periods.

With Hangzhou added to its network, Vietnam Airlines will operate seven direct routes between Vietnam and China, serving Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou.

Nguyen Quang Trung, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines, said the Hanoi–Hangzhou route was the next step in the carrier's strategy to expand its international network.

He added that the route would also support trade and tourism despite market challenges, including fuel price fluctuations.

Since the beginning of this year, Vietnam Airlines has continued to expand its international network by adding routes to Amsterdam, Colombo, Phuket, and Ahmedabad.

The carrier has also increased frequencies on several routes to Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, Singapore, Manila, Moscow, Melbourne and Sydney.

The airline's expansion into international economic and tourism hubs reflects its strategy of strengthening global integration and broadening opportunities for cooperation.

Direct routes help promote trade, attract international tourists, and strengthen Vietnam's connections with key markets across the region and the world.
