The national airline has just announced its first direct flight path from Vietnam to Denmark, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Copenhagen, starting from December 15.
This is the first and only direct flight route between the two countries to date, marking a strategic move in Vietnam Airlines' efforts to expand its international network while establishing a new air bridge between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe.
The service will be run three times a week using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering a brand-new comfortable experience to passengers.
The flight is expected to depart Ho Chi Minh City at 10:45 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and the return flight will take off at 10:50 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
With a flexible schedule and convenient connections, Vietnam Airlines hopes the new route will effectively serve travel, tourism, family visits, and business needs between the two regions – particularly benefiting the community of over 70,000 Vietnamese living in Northern European countries.
According to Dang Anh Tuan, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines, this flight path marks the airline's effort in expanding its network in Europe, particularly in the promising Nordic market.
"This route is not only an opportunity for Vietnam Airlines to strengthen its global connectivity, but also a strong testament to its commitment to bringing the image of Vietnam closer to international friends," Tuan said.
The flight route between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen offers another option to customers, which once again reinforces the carrier's leading role in connecting Vietnam with the world.
With this move, the brand aims to expand its presence in the Nordic region, a potential market with year-round travel demand, while also enhancing Vietnam Airlines' international standing.
In 2025, Vietnam Airlines is expected to open and resume 15 flight paths to various destinations such as Italy, China, Russia, the UEA, Japan, South Korea, and India, among others.
These services would not only boost economic and tourism connections but also promote Vietnam's image to the world, contributing to the national goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors.
