Vietnam-assembled Hyundai vehicles exported to Mexico for the first time
Hyundai Thanh Cong has begun exporting Hyundai Creta vehicles assembled in Vietnam to Mexico, marking the model's first entry into the Latin American market and expanding the company's export footprint across three continents.

At a ceremony held at its Ninh Binh manufacturing plant on Friday, the automaker announced exports to Mexico and Australia, two new markets added in 2026 alongside Taiwan.
The shipment also marks the first export of the Hyundai Creta to Mexico. Hyundai Thanh Cong plans to ship 7,663 vehicles to the North American country this year.

Mexico and Australia are considered demanding markets with stringent requirements on quality, safety, technical specifications, and emissions standards.
Production for these markets is subject to strict controls throughout the manufacturing, inspection, and export processes.
Nguyen Minh Son, director of Hyundai Thanh Cong's plant, said the exports were the result of years of preparation, including investments in manufacturing capabilities, technology, and international market development.

The company expects to export 15,280 units in 2026, including 10,160 fully assembled vehicles and 5,120 component sets, a sharp increase from previous years.
In 2025, Hyundai Thanh Cong exported 761 finished vehicles and 1,536 component sets to Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Kazakhstan. A year earlier, it shipped 458 Hyundai Palisade vehicles to Thailand, its first export market for passenger cars.
Looking ahead, the automaker plans to expand exports to the Middle East, Africa, Central America, South America, and Russia between 2027 and 2029, targeting total exports of around 187,000 units.
From 2030, Hyundai Thanh Cong aims to export more than 60,000 units annually as it seeks to position Vietnam as a global export hub for Hyundai vehicles.

Hyundai Thanh Cong began partnering with South Korea's Hyundai Motor in 2009. Since then, its two factories have produced nearly 569,000 vehicles, including more than 472,000 passenger cars and over 96,000 commercial vehicles.
The company started exporting vehicles in 2018, with South Korea, Peru, and the Philippines among its earliest overseas markets.
